Welcome Message

The Elections of 2005 will be perhaps the most important election of our generation.  There are numerous critical issues at stake and those who believe in progress and development of Liberia should be associated with the Democracy for Change in Liberia, the elections of 2005 and in this great effort.

In the long history of our country, many of our political leaders have failed us by their selfish policies, lack of common sense, and have actively disregarded the public trust, respect, and  recklessly exploited the resources of the country for greed and corruption.  They have placed their selfish interest ahead of the good and development of the country.  For these greedy, corrupt and recycled old  politicians, our only alternative is electoral action in October 2005.  Time is running out my friends,  and it’s about time for a new leadership in the country.

In our hands, as young people of Liberia,  will rest the final success or failure of  the Elections of 2005 and our country path to development and prosperity. Since our country was founded, there have been very few opportunities for young Liberians  like yourself, to show their national loyalty and patriotism,  and this is one of such important time in our nation's history.   The presidency is the most powerful position in Liberia.  For the next four years and even more, critical decisions regarding reconstruction and development, health care & social services, education & job training, the economy & unemployment, foreign relations & national security, agriculture, good governance, bribery & corruption,  environmental protection,  civil rights & press freedom, women's and child's right and many more issues will have to be made within the Executive Branch of government.  Through its leadership of the presidency, will come a more vital life for our people.

Any political aspirant to such an  important office should be willing to outline to the Liberian voters his/her views, records and competence on these issues.  And this is where Democracy for Change in Liberia will come in.  The issues in the 2005 Elections can not be overemphasized and it is on the basis of these issues that the Liberian people must make their fateful choice for new leaders for their future.  We can not effect such a great change alone and we want you to be our partner by joining us in this important endeavor.

Thank you very much and may God Bless Liberia.

Duke E. Kolliegbo

Executive Director
