About Democracy for Change in Liberia - 2005 Elections

Democracy for Change in Liberia for the 2005 Elections was inspired by a group of young Liberian intellectuals as a political action group dedicated to supporting and promoting good governance, fiscal responsibilities, transparency, accountability and socially progressive candidates at all levels of the Liberian government during the 2005 Presidential and General Elections.   DCL-2005 will fight against the influence of old and corrupt politicians that have failed the Liberian people for many decades, advocate policies of good governance, fight against bribery, corruption and the selfish interests of old politicians that have too long  dominated Liberian politics.

For too long now, many of our current national leaders as well as past leaders have actively disregarded the public trust and  recklessly exploited the resources of the country.   For these greedy and corrupt politicians, our only alternative is electoral action in 2005.   In 2005, we all will be casting the most important vote of our lifetime. It's time for a change in leadership and the direction of our country.  We need new, young and talented  leaders with a  new vision for the development of our country. 

DCL goal is to educate the Liberian people about the issues of the 2005 Elections, what is at stake, and where the candidates stand on every issues affecting the country.   The 2005 Elections will perhaps be one of the most important elections of our lifetime.
